Prophet Nuh (Noah)

Nuh and the great ark

Prophet Nuh (Noah) called his people to worship only Allah for a very, very long time — the Quran tells us he stayed among them a thousand years less fifty. He was so patient! Only a few people believed him, but Nuh never gave up and never stopped being kind while he called them. When Allah told Nuh a great flood was coming, He commanded Nuh to build a huge ship — right there on dry land, far from any sea, while people laughed at him! Nuh trusted Allah and built it anyway. When the flood came, Nuh, his family who believed, and pairs of animals were kept safe inside the ark, while the flood covered the land. Nuh's story teaches us that patience and trust in Allah can carry us through even when others don't understand.

Hud · 11:37

وَاصْنَعِ الْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا

Wasna'i l-fulka bi-a'yunina wa wahyina

"And construct the ship under Our observation and Our inspiration."

Say it: Read it in three gentle steps: Wasna'i l-fulka (build the ship) — bi-a'yunina (under Our watchful care) — wa wahyina (and Our guidance). Let your child echo each step.

الْفُلْك

al-fulk
