Prophet Idris

Idris: patient, truthful, and raised high

A long time ago there lived a prophet named Idris. The Quran tells us only a little about him, but what it tells us is beautiful: Idris was a man of truth — he always told the truth and kept his promises — and he was patient, never giving up even when things were hard. Allah loved Idris so much for his truthfulness and patience that He raised him to a high and honored place. Idris teaches us that you don't need a long, exciting story to be someone Allah loves — just always telling the truth and staying patient is enough to be raised high in Allah's sight.

Maryam · 19:56

وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِدْرِيسَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا

Wadhkur fil-kitabi Idris; innahu kana siddiqan nabiyya

"And mention in the Book, Idris. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet."

Say it: Read it in four gentle steps: Wadhkur fil-kitabi (mention in the Book) — Idris (Idris) — innahu kana (indeed he was) — siddiqan nabiyya (truthful, a prophet). Let your child echo each step.
