Our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
Muhammad ﷺ: a mercy to everyone
Allah sent many prophets over a very long time to teach people about Him — like Adam, Ibrahim, Musa, and Isa. Muhammad ﷺ was the very last prophet, sent to everyone, everywhere. He was kind to children, gentle with animals, honest in everything he said, and patient even when people were unkind to him. Allah calls him a mercy to the whole world — which means Allah sent him to help and bless everyone, Muslim or not. We show our love for him by trying to follow his good example and by saying "peace be upon him" whenever we say his name.
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةًۭ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ
Wa ma arsalnaka illa rahmatan lil-'alamin"And We have not sent you [O Muhammad] except as a mercy to the worlds."
Say it: Read it in three gentle steps: Wa ma arsalnaka (We did not send you) — illa rahmatan (except as a mercy) — lil-'alamin (to the worlds). Let your child echo each step.
